Firm History

Our firm's history dates back to 1873, when Major William MacKendrie Robbins set up a law office in Statesville. Mr. Robbins was a former army officer, North Carolina state senator, U.S. representative and Superintendent of Gettysburg Military Park. In 1932, Neil Sowers (Robert Crosswhite's grandfather) became a principal in the firm. Since then, the services we offer and our firm’s name have changed. Today, we are a team of professional legal support staff and four attorneys known as Crosswhite, Crosswhite, Ashley & Johnson, PLLC, and we are ready to assist you with a variety of legal concerns.
